The aim of the project was to promote informal learning to expand the knowledge, experience, and skills of the youth from the Dance Ensemble "Pargavelche" in order to integrate them into the values of civil society, culture, art, and sports, and to prevent antisocial behavior among teenagers. The project was implemented from July 1 to August 30, 2024, with the financial support of Shumen Municipality.
Thirty young people aged 14 to 20 participated in the project. Over the course of two months—July and August—the participants were divided into two groups. In the first month, they studied two of Bulgaria's folklore regions — the Shopluk and Thracian regions. The activity concluded with a multimedia presentation, encouraging creativity and attractiveness. The event took place in the "Sava Dobroplodni" hall at the Community Center "Dobri Voynikov."
In the second phase of the project, titled "Draw Me a Horo," each group presented a dance from their folklore region. For this purpose, over the course of 30 days, the dancers independently choreographed the individual elements of the dance and chose their own music. After the dance presentations, everyone unanimously selected the dance "Nadigravane" from the Shop ethnographic region as the winner. It was included in the repertoire of the Ensemble. In the third phase, Shop women's costumes were made, consisting of a women's shirt and a litak.
The dance "Nadigravane" and the costumes created as part of the project were presented on stage for the first time during the performances of the Dance Ensemble "Pargavelche" at the international folklore festival "ALEGRIA DE DANZAR" in Spain, and later that same year at the festival in the cities of Mersin and Tarsus, Turkey.
